GUT, METABOLIC & HORMONE SPECIALIST | RD, BSc

Eloise Garbutt

Eloise Garbutt is a specialist gastroenterology dietitian at The Gut Health Clinic, supporting adults with complex digestive, metabolic and hormone-related health concerns. She brings extensive experience from both NHS and private hospital settings and is known for her evidence-based, highly personalised approach to care.

Eloise has over five years’ clinical experience across the NHS and leading private hospitals in London. She specialises in gastroenterology and intestinal failure, with experience supporting patients in inpatient and specialist outpatient settings. Her clinical work includes irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pancreatic disorders, and post-gastrointestinal surgery such as bowel resection, short bowel syndrome and stoma management. She has completed advanced training in dietary management and the low FODMAP diet for IBS at King’s College London.

Alongside her gut health work, Eloise practises as a Senior Specialist Diabetes Dietitian within the NHS. In this role, she supports people with complex metabolic and gastrointestinal presentations, including pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, bowel neuropathy and delayed gastric emptying. She also has experience in bariatric and weight management services, including post-bariatric surgery care and supporting individuals using GLP-1 medications. Eloise has a particular interest in women’s health, including PCOS, endometriosis and menopause, as well as metabolic and cardiovascular health.

Eloise’s approach is firmly evidence-based. She does not recommend supplements, tests or dietary strategies unless they are supported by science and appropriate for the individual. She focuses on balancing effective symptom management with longer-term health and wellbeing, while supporting patients to develop a confident and sustainable relationship with food.

As part of The Gut Health Clinic, Eloise works within an established specialist service led by gut health scientist and thought leader Dr Megan Rossi. The clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialist dietitians with over 45 years of combined clinical experience and has supported more than 5,000 clients since 2019. Eloise regularly works alongside GPs, gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring care is well integrated and aligned with wider medical management.
