No added sugar fibre fix chia jam

No added sugar needed. This chia jam is naturally sweet, easy to make, packed with fibre, and bursting with polyphenols. Gut and brain nourishing goodness in every spoonful! To cook along with Megan, click here.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed frozen berries
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 dates (optional)

Method

  1. Heat berries (and dates if using) in a small saucepan over low-medium heat, stirring until softened and gently bubbling. Mash with a spoon or potato masher to your preferred texture.
  2. Stir in the chia seeds and lemon juice.
  3. Remove from the heat and cool for 5 minutes to thicken. Add to your air tight container for storage, and serve up when needed. Enjoy!

Want to save for later? You can store this jam in an air-tight glass jar in the fridge for up to 1 week.

P.S. If you want to make this a fibre + protein-fuelled snack, just add 1 slice of sourdough toast and 1 tbsp of almond butter. Enjoy! (6g of fibre + 12g of protein).
