Brand and Social Media Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)

Are you ready to help shape and scale one of the UK’s most trusted gut health brands?

The Gut Health Doctor is looking for a passionate Brand & Social Media Marketing Manager to work closely with Dr Megan Rossi, leading the strategic direction, growth and day-to-day execution of our brand and social media marketing activity.

What started as a mission to translate gut health science into practical advice has grown into a global platform reaching millions of people across social media, books, media and digital education – alongside science-led consumer brands including Bio&Me and SMART STRAINS.

People follow The Gut Health Doctor because they trust the science, integrity and evidence-based approach behind everything we share.

This role plays a key part in protecting and growing that trust– helping shape how our work reaches the public, ensuring our messaging remains credible, relevant and impactful, and supporting the continued growth of a brand that sits at the intersection of science, media and consumer health.

Working closely with the founder, you’ll help bring the brand to life across multiple platforms – from social media and newsletters to press and brand collaborations – while identifying opportunities to grow our community and expand our impact.

This is a pivotal role for someone who can think strategically and make things happen – translating strategy into action.

You’ll be responsible for setting and delivering the brand and marketing strategy across all channels.

This will be a 12-month contracted position, with the potential to move to a permanent role for someone who makes themselves indispensable.

What the Role Will Involve

  • Ensuring brand strategy, messaging and creative are consistently reflected across all external activity and communication
  • Leading social media activity, including content planning and execution
  • Writing press releases and drafting responses to media enquiries
  • Keeping track of trends, hot topics and industry developments to inform business growth and the content plan
  • Managing the company website and newsletter
  • Delivering brand collaborations

You’ll Be / Have

  • Someone who lives and breathes marketing and social media, ideally with at least 5 years’ experience, preferably agency experience
  • Someone who takes ownership of their role – a self-starter who is accountable and proactive
  • A confident communicator with excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and a flair for storytelling
  • Good at managing people above and below
  • A strategic and creative thinker, able to translate big-picture ideas into practical, innovative content
  • A strong eye for visually appealing and on-brand creative
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience creating and managing Instagram content
  • Experience using video editing software and creative tools such as CapCut, Canva and Instagram editing tools
  • Passionate about nutrition and wellness with the drive to help a mission-led brand reach its full potential
  • Honest, transparent, and committed to delivering high standards with integrity

Additional Details

  • Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum (depending on experience) + performance related bonuses
  • Role will be remote, with monthly face-to-face meetings in London and Reading
  • Need to attend additional events in London or other
  • Some evening and weekend work needed to meet deadlines
